Freshly Brewed Security Threat

Image
Amidst heavy tropical rain, I frantically searched for a local sim card of course with a set of valid documents. However, almost all shop barring none refused to have the stock and made some ridiculous excuses. Well, the place was in the vicinity of a 2 century old university, an otherwise busy market. My search continued for the second time again in the evening with similar fate though this time I stretched my combing operation to cover few other nearby markets. I was almost returning empty handed had it not been a small shop at the temple side.  I asked my industrialist nephew to get down and repeat the inquiry though I was not very confident. I was still behind the wheel waiting for him to say "no" before I press on throttle. We had a silver-lining there, my nephew was smiling covering his head with a tiny waterproof file cover. I asked him twice on the noisy street to confirm whether it was actually there. Little relived now, I asked him for Airtel, he said only Vo

Of late, I am of the view that I should dedicate my writings for social cause only. My blogs won't no longer be a piece of writing but a silent movement in making. Though I am keenly working on a topic related to urban hazardous waste but in the meantime I received the invitation for one of my childhood  friends's son's first birth anniversary celebration. The invitation card was received at my native home scheduled in a couple of days. I have been in very sincere thinking about an appropriate recycling and re-usability of invitation cards, essentially the marriage, and birthday cards, which ultimately ends up in dustbin. I remember sometime back I endeavored to prepare gift envelopes from the invitation cards, I used them too and believe me nobody could notice that. However, this is not very easy on all different card types because of the complex designs in few typical cards. So when my nephew informed me about the invitation, I asked him to keep the envelope and us

The 4th Soccer Reich, Germany

Finished!!! No More Football Pleaze   They call it a sports but its a culture here in Germany so in many of European and Latin American nations. In a pre-final media encounter Sabella, the introvert Argentine head coach once mentioned, he respected 2 football playing nations, unfortunately one of them just decimated by the other-one he mentioned, Germany. Towards the start of this epic tournament at the home of football, the host was little shaky and far from a convincing champion team. Each time they were facing a team it was rather the emotions than techniques, which were at play. Mayhem Just Began However within 30 mins of their face-off with Germany in the historical semi final in Belo Horizonte , the visitor team mercilessly exterminated the centuries old famous Brazilian soccer culture for ever. Surprisingly, their people started questioning their own faith in the game, but there is no more any football greats, the likes of Pele or Ronaldo to reassure the trust back.

Demographic Disparity

"Do not count the numbers but the numbers you can count on"; need not to mention, quality is more important than quantity. Enough is enough, we celebrated the thriving numbers more often than anybody else on this planet. Certainly, its about the population, with a staggering growth rate as if we are in competition with some other universe to save the human race from extinction. Its worrisome for any rational person to contemplate that, we do not have a coherent population policy at national level. There is absolutely no advisory that could potentially deter further growth in population. Is This What We are Proud Of.... A billion and a quarter population which we achieved in 4 decades almost doubling the original count, is rather result of a failed population policy that we all should be deeply concerned about. Resources never grow not at-least in tandem with a 100% growth rate in consumers. Well somebody can claim that with the use of technology we can still multipl

Unconventional Warfare: India's Tryst with Super power

Mission Darius The conventional army loses if it does not win, the guerrilla wins if he does not lose.- Henry Kissinger. Conventional war is more like shadow boxing in the war-room but fighting in the battle field is another story. History is witness of many such encounters where numbers do not count, the myth of 300 Spartans defying the mighty Persians, millions in number still fresh in our memory. While Alexander, was framing his war plan in Gaugamela against the Babylonians, even his most trusted generals doubted his ability to conquer over a conventionally mightier Persians. History repeats itself, while skeptical Babur invaded Afghan king Ibrahim Lodhi, in India , he took a leaf out of Alexander's book. The Mogul king was leading a smaller army in comparison but capable of Guerrilla warfare right on the war front. Legends say had the Afghans or the Persians sustained on the battle field for even another hour or so both Babur and Alexander would have got an unceremonious

A Wishlist For Narendra Modi

Image
"With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" - Voltaire. As Narendra Modi swears in as India's next Prime Minister, a new era in Indian history unfolds. The mandate is literal reflection of his personality of being immensely decisive. A mandate that empowers a capable statesman like Modi to fulfill all the hopes, that sets him free from all the traction of coalition. The first ever government in the recent past that vows to work 18 hours a day altogether skipping its honeymoon period, truly living up to the grand expectation. Off late I have a sincere urge to stop writing on politics and going back to issues of public interest and social reform. However, I thought lets set some agenda before I drop the thread and continue to play the role of a constructive critic.  After a long while we have a no-nonsense leader in Delhi's corridors of politics who has a vision that impresses every right thinking national. Much have been said about the perils of caste and

Seeing Through Mandate, 2014, An Open Letter to ...

Beyond This Election After a couple of days of euphoria, I am bit pensive again of course after micro analysis of the results. Beyond reasonable doubt, this is an incredible mandate for Modi powered by many factors both positive and negative, worked in favor of the man of the moment. The BJP and its previous incarnation BJS, in the election fray right from 50's, have gone through many ups & downs and notably few of the landslides of Indira and Rajiv. Never before in the history, a non-Congress party had such a huge mandate nor the Congress suffered such a humiliating decimation. Such was the extent of the loss that the grand old party could not even open its account in 13 states and non of the 6 union territories. In rest of the country, Congress was merely an act of saving face than actually fighting an election for another turn. Well, the figures speak for itself, national tally of 44 while no individual state touching a double digit, turned the national party that ruled
